Business Developer

We’re well aware and convinced of the impact our solutions can have in the global maritime industry for port call optimization (PCO).  But we won’t rest until everybody knows. 

Port call optimization involves analysing and improving the efficiency of a vessel’s port visits. This can include reducing the time spent in port, minimising fuel consumption and costs, and improving the overall flow of cargo and other operations. By optimising port calls, shipping companies can reduce costs and increase profitability, as well as improve customer satisfaction through faster turnaround times.

We’re seeking a qualified business developer to extend our global reach through expert discovery and exploration of new and untapped business opportunities and relationships. 

We are Teqplay: a fast growing tech scale-up developing data-driven solutions to our customers in the maritime industry worldwide and we are looking for you to join our team! 

You’ll be part of an enthusiastic team within an open and international culture with lots of fun habits and traditions. Such as foosball, drinks, cake and industry related and leisure trips (i.e. the Port of Rotterdam and team weekend in the Ardennes). Objectives of this Role

Know the business of our customers:

  • Identify opportunities to grow business across current and future product areas applicable for ports and terminals.
  • Interact with current and prospective customers to relay the product’s value and benefits while gathering direct feedback.
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market.
  • Build long-term trusting relationships with clients and gain insight in their agenda.
  • Drive growth of the business in customer numbers and revenue.

Understand the market:

  • Understanding the market requirements for PCO.
  • Stay up-to-date with new products/services and new pricing/payment plans.
  • Explore opportunities to provide scale.

Grow Teqplay:

  • Translate customer needs in value propositions in collaboration with the product owner.
  • Support in the development of the business strategy.
  • Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) clients and sales team.
  • Participate in the development of proposals and presentations for new business materials to create and nurture business opportunities and partnerships.
  • Identify trends and customer needs, building a short/medium/long-term sales pipeline in accordance with targets.
  • Coordinate with marketing to provide input on the marketing strategy.

  • University (Bachelor / Master)
  • 5+ years industry experience
