Meet Sander Jellema, our Sales and Marketing Manager

The Teqplay-team is growing, we are proud to announce that Sander Jellema has joined as of the 1st of January as our Sales and Marketing Manager. With Sander’s experience and can do-attitude we believe Teqplay will manage to grow and reach the goals for the (near) future.

Teqplay started four years ago and set out to create smart solutions for port call optimization. One of them is Port Reporter. As from today, more than 15% of the port calls in the Port of Rotterdam are organized and controlled with this easy-to-use and pro-active tool.

Saturday the 8th of December was already reserved in our agenda for a long time. Teqplay was invited at the “Waterklerken Banquet -2018” of the “Koninklijke Vereniging der Waterklerken Antwerpen“. A lot of tall tales had been shared with us. The kind of stories that belong to the world of ports.

Playing around with technology, thinking out of the box, driving innovation in order to build the port and the port community. That is what we love, that is what we do, that is what we are good at. And that is why we participated in the ChainPort Hackathon in Antwerp.

Teqplay @ the LOTFA Hackathon in Antwerp

Last weekend we went to the Logistics of the future Antwerp (LOTFA) Hackathon. Team Teqplay, a mixed team of 9 people with front-end, back-end, design and business skills. The kick-off was on Friday where the challenges were presented to the audience. We chose to h#ck the challenge about Berth Management in de port of Antwerp. In short, barges moor everywhere, anytime. This causes problems when a sea-vessel arrives and the barge is moored on the spot of this sea-vessel. After a first brainstorm we soon came to the conclusion that the problem occurs because the inland skipper simply does not have the information and is not informed about the arriving sea-going vessels.
