Predictable & Optimal Port Call – Shaping the future!

“Port Call Optimization needs reliable digital information”. The question is how to collect and generate reliable information, and distribute it to the right person in the supply chain? We are proud to announce that we are part of the Rotterdam ‘Port Call Optimization’-initiative. In collaboration with Rotterdam Logistics Lab (RLL) we are developing Pronto addressing the optimization challenge. Pronto shows the critical timestamps of all parties in the port call, and provides the right information to the right person to make smart decision(s). As Teqplay, we value this close collaboration with RLL in co-creating the port of the future!

RiverGuide continues; the next step

Today’s trends on sustainability, globalisation and increasing competitiveness result in an urge to innovate. To ‘go with the flow’ and foster innovation in the barge industry, the RiverGuide initiative has been initiated by the Rotterdam port authority about a year ago. A safe and smooth journey for inland skippers with the right information, that’s the goal! In our previous blog, we shortly introduced RiverGuide to you. In this blog, we will talk about the next steps of this successful platform.

Learn & Improve – Port Performance Monitoring

Do you know whether your port area is operating efficiently today? And do you know whether performance is improving or deteriorating since last month?

RiverGuide – smart barging

Innovation is the key factor for ports to develop competitive advantage. The Port of Rotterdam is Europe’s largest port with a high number of inland barges visiting the port each year. Riverguide started as an initiative from the Port of Rotterdam to provide the inland skippers with more information to have a safe and smooth journey to, and through the port.

Koerswijzer; for a safe passage!

The Moerdijk area is characterized as a risky and complicate crossing of waterways. Inland barges, sea-going vessels and recreational skippers all interact in this area. ‘Rijkswaterstaat’, ‘Varen Doe Je Samen’ and local authorities want to reduce the risks in this area. One of the solutions is an app that provides recreational skippers with insight in the traffic and circumstances in the Moerdijk area. Teqplay was asked to develop in collaboration with the community a solution. In a nutshell we will ‘guide’ you through innovative journey of the Koerswijzer project.

The power of combining forces

During the innovation fair ‘Water Ontmoet Water’ Teqplay was invited in Fort 1881 in Hoek van Holland. At this conference several successful innovative initiatives in the context of managing waterways in the Netherlands were presented. We were honoured to present Koerswijzer and Riverguide. In this blogpost we share our approach on how we co-create successful solutions.
